Overview

What: Enable users to define, configure, and modify the farm’s hierarchical structure—Zones, Sections, Units, and Spots—to mirror the physical layout and enforce access controls.

When: During initial system setup (onboarding) or whenever changes to the farm’s physical organization occur (e.g., new buildings, reconfigured areas).

Responsible Role: Farm Manager or Sentri

Hierarchical structure

The hierarchical structure follows this order:

1. Zone → Top-level division
2. Section → Equivalent to a workshop concept
3. Unit → Equivalent to a barn/room concept
4. Spot → Specific locations within a unit

On the Farm Layout page, you will see 3 different icons(:user: Biosecurity, :sentri: Animal, :more:Surveillance), each icon will have a number next to it, which represents the number of cameras of that type in the Zone, Section, or Unit.
